To qualify, candidates must have a minimum of five years of cumulative, full-time experience across two or more domains outlined in the CISSP Exam.
A post-secondary degree in computer science, IT, or a related field can replace up to one year of this experience.
Additionally, holding another credential from the ISC2 approved list may also account for up to one year of experience.
Experience gained through part-time work and internships is valid towards meeting the requirement. OR
Candidates lacking the necessary experience can achieve the status of Associate of ISC2 by successfully passing the CISSP examination.
Associates are granted a period of six years to accumulate the requisite five years of experience.
Full-Time Experience: Work experience is calculated on a monthly basis. Therefore, a minimum of 35 hours per week for four weeks is required to earn one month of work experience.
Part-Time Experience: Part-time work must be at least 20 hours per week but not exceed 34 hours per week.
